Rural Entrepreneurship Intention Among College Students: A Systematic Review of Push-Pull Factors, Resource Endowments, and the Moderating Role of Entrepreneurship Education
Keywords:
rural entrepreneurship intention, push-pull theory, resource endowment theory, entrepreneurship education, rural revitalizationAbstract
This systematic review examines what drives rural entrepreneurship intention among college students in China’s rural revitalization context. It draws on push-pull theory and resource endowment theory. Key factors include employment obstacles, city belonging, government support, role models, networking ability, and self-efficacy. Entrepreneurship education plays a central moderating role. It strengthens pull factors and resource effects, and weakens the negative impact of city attachment and job barriers. Rural entrepreneurial intention results from interactions among environmental pressure, institutional incentives, psychological resources, and education. Employment obstacles act as push factors. Government support and role models work as pull factors. These effects depend on city belonging, networking, and self-efficacy. Entrepreneurship education helps students interpret and use external opportunities. This review offers an integrated framework covering structural and individual factors. It provides a basis for future research and practical guidance for policy and education.References
